Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, Mississippi State Fire Academy will be canceling all on-campus courses for the next two weeks (March 15-28, 2020). The decision was made after guidance came down from the MS Department of Health, the Governor’s Office, and the Mississippi Insurance Department.
The Courses canceled are as follows:
Rope Technician (March 16-19, 2020)
Industrial Refresher (March 17-19, 2020)
1033 Fire Investigator (March 16-26, 2020)
FIRST (March 23-26, 2020)
CPAT (March 24, 2020)
1001 Class 186 will be moving to a fully online capacity, removing the students from the on campus setting.
1001 Class 187 (April 6, 2020) The MSFA will monitor the situation, and more guidance about this course will be forthcoming.
This is a very fluid situation, so these might not be the only cancellations to courses by the MSFA. The agency will try to do everything in its power to reschedule these courses.
If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact the MSFA Registrar’s Office or myself (Paul Ammerman)
