Effective May 26, 2020
Over the next several months, the Fire Academy will continue to adjust our training calendar to fit the needs of the fire service during this worldwide pandemic. We apologize for all of the cancellations of the 2020 Calendar so far this year, but we will do our best to get them rescheduled over the remainder of the summer and fall. The Fire Academy will be prioritizing these courses in order to delivery as many as possible.
In the upcoming weeks, our staff will be contacting the fire departments from across the state to determine which groups can send students to on-campus classes. At this time, our schedule is extremely fluid for on-campus deliveries. The current 2020 Calendar is being altered in order adjust to these trying times. The Fire Academy is limited to the amount of dorm space and on-campus students that will be allowed to be at our facility each day. Safety of our students is our number one priority.
During the month of June, we will be finishing the NFPA 1001 Firefighter Class 186, conducting several CPATs and hosting a few on-campus classes.
We will continue to conduct field and online/distant learner programs during this time. These programs include HAZ MAT A/O, NFPA 1021, NFPA 1041, NFPA 1035, Public Information Officer and NFPA 1521. Also, 12-hour schools are open and are available based upon the fire department requests.
We will be in touch within the next several weeks to fill rosters for these classes. Selection priority will be given to those students who have had classes cancelled this year due to COVID-19. If you need more details or information, please contact our staff.
